The Hartford Financial Services Group is seeking a highly creative and passionate Data Engineer with experience working in a dynamic and broadly defined role. The candidate will join our growing Data Science community supporting Health Services as we develop innovative solutions to expand our product offering and services. The Data Engineer will partner closely with business leaders and expert resources to design, develop and implement data assets for a wide range for new initiatives, including providing data and insights to estimate the value of potential strategies. This candidate will bring with them a creative solution design approach to data exploration and discovery and the ability to work in an iterative, collaborative way to balance the solution with the technical outcome. We seek candidates with a strong understanding of data architecture and data warehousing, coupled with strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and business skills. This role combines business and technical skills involving interaction with business customers, data science partners, internal and external data suppliers and Information Technology partners. This is a highly visible and client facing role that will regularly interact with C-level executives at The Hartford. This role is a great fit for someone who is bored with a traditional role and likes to think outside the box.

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
