This role will support the Global Specialty organization as part of the Data Science, AI and Analytics team. The Global Specialty Data Science, AI and Analytics (GS DSAIA) team is one of three practices (business-aligned teams) in the broader Business Insurance Data Science, AI and Analytics organization.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day Agile execution for multiple advanced analytics teams; leverage proficiency in Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) to drive iterative delivery, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams and value streams
Serve as change agent for DSAIA integration and embeddedness into the GS value stream model
Build strong partnerships with business customers and technology partners and act as key point of contact for Data Science & Engineering portfolio and assets
Partner with APMs and business leaders to refine features and roadmap priorities
Translate vision and strategic roadmap into incremental plans, sprint goals and prioritized execution work (in partnership with technical leaders); ensure backlog items reflect customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility
Assist in development of team and product vision, strategic planning, success criteria, CBA and value propositions for Data Science & Engineering assets
Assist with the communication plan and marketing strategy of the portfolio and key capstone initiatives; execute well-designed communication plans tailored to audiences ranging from technical peers to business stakeholders of various levels
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in supporting analytic or machine learning product ownership or technical development in insurance or related field
Proficient knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP) and comfort assessing team needs, establishing routines and driving continuous improvement
Familiarity with insurance preference, with stronger preference for Commercial Insurance and direct Global Specialty knowledge
Proficiency in turning a new business problem into an executable technical or analytical solution
Comfortable with working on novel, ambiguous business problems with no clear-cut solutions while flexing different roles to achieve project success
Proficiency in impactful storytelling, communication, and relationship-building across a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
Proficiency in leveraging Microsoft tools to develop compelling visuals articulating complex analytical topics
Proficiency in translating complex technical topics into business solutions and strategies as well as turning business requirements into technical solutions
Experience with leading project execution and driving change to core business processes through the innovative use of quantitative techniques
Commitment to proactively expand technical knowledge in emerging areas such as generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, cloud-based data platforms, and modern data engineering practices to stay current and deliver innovative solutions for customers

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$111,200 - $166,800
