Content Technical Specialist

The Product Delivery group, within Content Operations, is involved in the delivery of enhanced content to Thomson Reuters’ customers, across a wide portfolio of product and solution formats (such as print, online, and eBook), while maintaining the currentness, correctness, and completeness of such products.

We are looking for an Associate Content Technical Specialist, who will work on the creation and/or acquisition, preparation and delivery of assigned content and information for creating products and product functionality in all publication media (print or electronic).

Creation/Acquisition:

• Provides support in meta data creation/mofication.

Preparation and Final Delivery:

• Performs duties related to the preparation of and final delivery of information such as converting, coding, merging, rendering, loading, and validation of information.
• Converts new or existing information to a coded data file for established workflows or product development enhancements.
• Incorporates and responds to input from content experts on functionality, presentation and formatting of content.
• Assists in the delivery of final product through delivery of electronic files for all media.

Workflow Management:

• Works regularly on various systems, software, databases, and applications to deliver quality products.
• Assists in maintaining the integrity and completeness of work product and product databases for editorial and primary source materials.
• Analyzes and assists in resolving routine problems.

Quality:

• Ensures completeness, proper structure, and functionality (content verification, resolving simple issues, and review) for assigned products.
• Provides effective and timely escalation of quality issues.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Entry level for professional roles, with 1-2 years of publishing experience.
• Basic XML knowledge is a must, along with good written and verbal English and communication skills.
• Able to learn quickly and apply knowledge to increasingly complex and changing work.
• Shows technical aptitude for computer applications and systems such as word processing and file management applications.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and stay focused while dealing with multiple production assignments/tasks.

Relationships: Internal / External

May work with a range of internal contacts including but not limited to Editorial teams (stakeholders), Manufacturing and Technology.

Certifications / Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or similar required

Professional Experience

1 to 1.5 years of prior experience basis the skillset mentioned under Knowledge & Skill Requirements
