Data Integration Lead

Thomson Reuters is at the leading edge of a rapidly changing relationship between information, technology, and the business decision-making process. The Digital Services and Technology organization at Thomson Reuters is seeking a Data Integration Lead to join the rapidly growing Digital Marketing Platform team. This role is, first and foremost a technology leadership role that straddles the fence between a data geek and team lead. 

As a Data Integration Lead you will be responsible for an agile team of SQL and integration engineers, partnering closely with Marketing Technology Product Owners, architecture, and other stakeholders to implement solutions that meet business needs and align with technology processes and standards. You will liaison within the marketing function and then translate that marketing vision towards a technology implementation to deliver on marketing goals. As a savvy technologist, you will be able to work smoothly under pressure, with communication that should be equally effective with IT, marketing, and sales. You are a collaborator and a team player, bridging gaps between departments that are admittedly sometimes just not speaking the same language. You will serve as the interpreter between these sometimes-disparate departments. As a leader, you will have the ability to connect the dots between the user experience and the marketing and IT teams that control these systems.

About You

You're a fit for the Data Integration Lead role if you possess general expertise in the following:

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to navigate customer data, create and execute SQL queries of basic to moderate complexity, to assist in discovery and troubleshooting
• Experienced in web service consumption, including ability to execute test calls in a utility such as Postman or Swagger
• Experienced with integration and ETL tools such as Boomi, Mulesoft, or Informatica Cloud is a plus
• Familiarity with various aspects of a MarTech stack including one or more of Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Marketing Automation Platforms (MAP) and Customer Relationship Management Platforms (CRM)
• Ability to influence stakeholders through data flow diagrams and technical architecture information
• Possess the following characteristics: Self-motivated, growth mindset, organizational skills, and most importantly communication
• Experienced in a team leadership role or providing work direction to a team, following an agile methodology
• Development experience is not required, but a plus

The Data Integration Lead must also understand the valuable potential of automation to streamline the functions of both IT and marketing teams. You should understand how systems could interconnect to integrate data between platforms, although you will not be expected to write the code to make it happen.

This role will have the opportunity to work across digital channels to improve business performance in the following ways:

• Provide work direction and leadership to a team of data and integration engineers
• Strategy development and implementation of marketing efforts to improve a business
• Adherence to change, release, and incident management processes
• Review/oversee training of marketing software and user adoption
• Lead user acceptance testing while correcting any issues that arise
• Oversee MarTech data security and product enhancement
• Relationship management with internal technology users and vendors
• Optimizing technology investments
• Overseeing marketing intelligence and providing actionable insight to internal stakeholders
• Working closely with IT developers, cross-functional and non-technical partners, vendors, and technology architecture.
