About the role:

Thomson Reuter's Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team is looking for a strategic, innovative change agent to drive security design principles and requirements into network and cloud architecture.

In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers, the platform engineering team, and business unit architects to implement network security into disparate solutions. This role will be responsible for baking security policy, best practices, and guidance across our cloud estate.

The ideal candidate will possess the right demeanor, skillset, and experience to understand and explain strategic security issues to audiences of mixed technical abilities. A passion and a solid understanding of network security technologies, cloud technologies, open-source, and developing the latest technologies in a dynamic, agile environment. Able to deal with innovative ideas and solutions while remaining grounded in solid security practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and technology peers to understand business vision and goals, able to derive the context out of those goals, and able to articulate those contexts in the form of conceptual architectures, and ensure consistency across various architectures
  • Be a thought leader and influencer in emerging technologies such as SD-WAN,  Secure Internet Gateways, CASB, Unified Threat Management, and Network Visibility.
  • Collaborate with technologists/architects to follow the consistent framework and methodology to drive/recommend the standards, regulatory compliance, industry best practices, and track repeatable patterns across the company.
  • Should be able to define the logical services based on given context (business need) and conceptual level
  • Be conversant and hands-on with the solutions like ZScaler, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and other relevant technologies.
  • Should have a thorough knowledge and hands-on exposure to various solutions in the Web Application Firewall, DDoS, Email Security, Compute Security space. Experience in advising/designing cloud and traditional data center IDS/IPS capabilities.
  • Hands-on exposure to some or many network security and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is strongly preferred.
  • Having SABSA/TOGAF is an additional plus.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Security Design Reviews or Architecture Risk Analysis across a diverse range of businesses
  • Several years of network security experience with relevant experience in security architecture is a must.
  • Experience with developing & supporting security strategy, architecture, and standards
  • Security Web Gateway products like ZScaler or equivalent, next-gen firewall like Palo Alto/Checkpoint or equivalent, email security solutions like Proofpoint or equivalent, and Web Application Firewall, DDoS - Experience and understanding are necessary.
  • Solid experience in producing network data flow diagrams to drive unified patterns across the company.
  • Solid understanding of network threat capabilities on network services and appliances.
  • Experience in the latest cloud technologies
  • Experience carrying out security assessments on remote access solutions and VPNs
  • A practical approach to network segregation in complex configurations.
  • Experience guiding and designing secure and connected networks between on/off-prem.
  • Experience working with both in-house and 3rd parties to support a secure network design.
