Position summary

Reuters Plus, the brand marketing studio of Reuters is seeking a dynamic creative leader to take the business to its next stage of growth. The Director of Custom Content Studio, will be responsible for overseeing all custom content output including creative concepting, development and overseeing production in response to clients’ campaign requirements. We are looking for a creative powerhouse to originate persuasive storytelling with content relevant to each client; introduce and implement new storytelling models to maximize impact and deliver the revenue and retention goals for the business. 

About the Role

In this opportunity as Director of Custom Content Studio, key areas of accountability include: 

  • Lead the creation of original content for brands, their agencies and media partners across all formats, using internal and external execution resources. 
  • Lead all aspects of the creative process for custom digital advertising solutions to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and on budget. 
  • Lead the custom content team in producing winning content strategies and concepts for client proposals, to increase conversion and deliver the custom content revenue targets 
  • Oversee projects from pitch to production, ensuring content is created and executed to high standards. Seek and gain industry recognition for creative work. 
  • Develop content strategies, concepts and oversee production to ensure high-quality delivery and against client requirements and expectations to improve repeat business 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for sales and clients to drive content excellence. 
  • Partner with sales and other stakeholders to understand client needs and create content that brings in expertise from across the business. 
  • Support sales with the management of key customer relationships; serve as the first point of contact for sales and clients to drive content excellence. 
  • Serve as the creative director for the creation of compelling and persuasive content for client campaigns as well as Reuters marketing that is produced in-house. 
  • Oversee the development of templates for fast turnaround content 
  • Grow the client base and offering by collaborating across the business to find cross-selling opportunities and/or opportunities to package up new solutions that responds to client needs. 
  • Ensure alignment and governance of message and tone in the creation of content. 
  • People management:  Guide development of a high performing custom content team and management of external vendors including content strategists, producers, writers, and designers ensuring they receive clear briefing, sufficient structured training, monitoring and mentoring as appropriate. 
  • Develop/refine processes and platforms to improve efficiencies and effectiveness 
  • Play a core role with the direction and strategy of the Marketing leadership team 
  • Ensure content complies with the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles and commercial policies 

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of Director of Custom Content Studio, if your background includes:

  • Proven leadership experience in global media organizations, working across different functions, media types and regions.
  • Previous experience of working with both agency and direct client environments 
  • Proven track record of successfully Influencing senior and C-level executives 
  • Strong background of working successfully in a sales-led environment and supporting a field sales team 
  • Previous experience working with a global remit 
  • Strong knowledge in digital media landscape and competitive products and strategies 
  • Advertising content product development will be an advantage 
  • Extensive creative execution contacts – writers, video, producers etc. 
  • Multi-platform content production experience from creative direction to client delivery. 
  • Understanding of content strategy development to propose compelling client solution covering when to use which solutions e.g., social, branded content, events, competitions, advertising, video to answer the client brief effectively and profitably.
