The strategic ambition of the newly created Data & Analytics (D&A) function is to build, embed and mature a data-driven culture across the entire company resulting in a world-class Data & Analytics company.

The AI/ML &BI Platforms Team has been established to create, operate, and run enterprise AI/ML & BI Platforms that will facilitate the time to market for analytics and data science teams to run experiments, train models and generate insights. Core to the team’s principles will be the implementation of data and model governance standards and operationalization of the model release process.

The Lead BI Platform Operations will be responsible to oversee best practices for BI development across Thomson Reuters business operations. The Lead BI Platform Operations will be accountable for the administration, performance, and user training of the strategic data visualization platform. This will entail overseeing projects and managing the operations associated with the BI platform, as well as being a subject matter expert on the strategic applications themselves.

About the Role

In this opportunity you will: 

  • Work closely with internal teams to assess BI tooling needs and that applications features are successfully developed, adopted and deployed. 
  • Design and deliver immediate fixes/upgrades and longer-term strategic solutions as needed.  This will entail partnering with third party technical teams in the assessment and operationalization of applications across the platform. and offers insights on immediate fixes or upgrades and longer-term strategic alignment.  Development of new processes as needed.
  • Provide support by engaging in day-to-day application technical support for end users, vendor technical discussions, and managing tech support contractors.
  • Monitor usage and manage licensing and onboarding 
  • Develop and refine documentation around onboarding and usability
  • Develop and maintain a report catalogue and reporting standards
  • Participate in scrum meetings, sprint planning, code reviews etc.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Lead BI Platform Operations if you meet all or most of these criteria: 

  • Have 5 years prior experience as a Data Visualization platforms administrator (Tableau and Power BI, preferably), including responsibilities for training and onboarding
  • Have 7 years prior experience as both a report developer and consumer of an enterprise BI platforms (Tableau and PowerBI, preferred)
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills particularly when orchestrating complex projects with interdependencies across multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience migrating on premise solution to a cloud implementation preferred
  • Prior technical program management experience
  • Previous experiences utilizing Tableau Data Management and/or Microsoft PowerBI Automate
