Position summary

Summary of Position

We are currently seeking applicants with backgrounds in tax, accounting, finance, and/or software implementation to join our Services Associate Program at Thomson Reuters.

As a Services Associate you will be provided with exciting opportunities to interface with customers and internal teams while supporting global corporations as they implement our ONESOURCE Product Suite.

Through this experience you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation for how  corporations are being ran in today’s market, and how our software positively impacts their business processes.

Within this program we offer extensive training, mentoring, and guidance to start you on the path to a successful career in consulting at Thomson Reuters.

You will be trained in best practices, project management methodology, and gain the technical and functional skills required to participate in enterprise software projects focused on Indirect Tax and Direct Tax departments.

You will also be exposed to the various Thomson Reuters platforms and all services provided across our Corporates business.

Our enterprise software provides critical information and solutions to companies of all sizes—and as your time in the program increases, you will be expected to gain a greater understanding of our product’s functionality and learn our implementation methodology.  

The overarching intention of the Services Associate Program is to create a contract to hire situation, where resources are trained on product functionality and project management methodology, until they are ready to engage with customers and transition into a full-time role within our Professional Services Organization. Upon transitioning out of the program and into a full-time role as a project manager or product subject matter expert, you will be responsible for managing ONESOURCE implementation activities for Thomson Reuters' customers with Indirect Tax and Direct Tax needs.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Compliance, Business, IT and Tax Technology professionals.
  • Assist in business and requirements gathering sessions, to create appropriate design documentation and streamline configuration construction.
  • Engage with other teams such as Product Management & Engineering within Thomson Reuters to deliver end to end solutions.
  • Assist project team to ensure all business requirements are gathered and implementation deadlines are met.
  • Complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Perform technical and functional roles on small to medium projects led by Sr. Implementation Consultants and Project Managers.
  • Support sales teams by providing product demos and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Be available during all business hours and responsive to all customer requests.

Mandatory Experience and Skills

  • Must have excellent interpersonal awareness, written communication skills and know how to share information professionally and concisely.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in working with computers and standard business software like Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and proactive learner.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and motivated to drive innovation.
  • Ability to function and contribute in a diverse work environment—both remote and in office settings.

Highly Desirable Skills/Experience

  • 1 – 2 years relative work experience.
  • Multilingual
  • Exposure to Indirect Tax, Direct Tax, Compliance and/or Global Trade Management.
  • Experience with process analysis, design & mapping.
  • Experience Implementing Enterprise Software including Cloud Solutions and third-party applications.
  • Experience creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
  • Ability to Relocate if needed.

Education Required

  • Higher Education Degree or Diploma – Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or Computer Science preferred.
