Position summary

Thomson Reuters is looking to hire a Senior Technical Solutions Architect. We require a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who will be responsible for managing a team that builds software solutions to meet client needs. Ideal candidates will have technical experience including object-oriented programming (.NET), SQL Server (T-SQL) knowledge, and experience in the professional service industry. Candidates should be excellent team players and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Senior Technical Solutions Architects are responsible for the specification, design, development, and implementation of custom software projects for our customers using our 3E practice management solution as well as other Thomson Reuters products.  Candidates should possess knowledge of several development languages, databases, and technologies.  The Senior Technical Solutions Architect should have the ability to understand a customer’s business requirement and advise customers with the most compelling solution available within the 3E software architecture. In addition to this the Senior Technical Solutions Architect is responsible for managing development resources, both on and offshore to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Senior Technical Solutions Architect, you will: 

  • Direct the resolution of complex or unusual customer requirements.
  • Responsible for development of custom solutions.
  • Implements best practices for delivering custom solutions.
  • Provides technical assistance to sales team where necessary e.g., developing prototypes for pre-sales.
  • Provides detailed estimates for new business.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Senior Technical Solutions Architect if you have:

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • 3-5+ years experience in the complete SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).
  • 3-5+ years experience with SQL Server.
  • 3-5+ years experience developing in Microsoft development tools .NET, ASP.NET., REST API, XLST, DevOps
  • Clear communication capabilities on projects, including project documentation 
  • Adherence to conversion methodology within projects, including exercising sound project planning and monitoring skills.
  • Comprehensive analytical skills and ability to formulate client-specific solutions
  • A solid understanding of the various database structures
  • Positive track record for customer satisfaction
  • Strong team player capabilities, i.e., willing to help others as appropriate
  • Desire for self-improvement i.e., taking advantage of CE classes, self-study on own initiative
  • Participation in both client facing and internal projects
  • Ability to work under tight schedules and under pressure
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks within same time frame
  • Ability to work well across departments and skill levels
