ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for:
Development, unit test and integration of new and existing software ensuring software meets requirements.
Design of software components.
Technical support to operations or other development teams.
Production of technical documentation.
Review work of peers and more junior developers.
Identification and implementation of solution options, including risk assessments.
Active participation in all aspects of agile deployment methodologies
To be considered for the role of a Software Engineer, you will have:
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
· Working knowledge of databases and document stores (both RDBMS – Oracle preferred, DynamoDB document store, ElasticSearch increasingly used).
· Proven back-end development experience (on-premise infrastructure or cloud).
· Working knowledge of Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum or Kanban.
· Ability to methodically troubleshoot/investigate problems in a timely manner.
· Ability to learn on the job.
· Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
· Good team-working skills.
· Cloud development experience (AWS preferred).
· Spring framework.
· Knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
· Experience of installing/replacing PC or Server components.
· Experience of working with virtualized environments: any of the following:
o Virtual machines / instances
· Experience with / knowledge of any of the following:
o Clojure, Groovy, Scala, Docker, Jenkins, Puppet.
· Working knowledge of Linux/Unix & Windows Server operating systems.
· Experience of system configuration management tools
