U.K. Legal Reporter

Reuters is seeking a reporter to break news and deliver analysis for readers seeking insight and competitive intelligence about the legal industry and courts in the U.K. The U.K. Legal Reporter will be well-versed in legal fundamentals and have the instincts and sources to deliver distinctive coverage of high-profile cases and news of interest to legal professionals and a wider audience. Topics range from business disputes to defamation claims to the impact of the pandemic on the business of law in the U.K. staking out fresh territory on a large and growing Reuters team dedicated to covering issues of importance to legal professionals, this reporter will hit the ground running with daily news and regular enterprise coverage pertaining to Magic Circle and global law firms with a big U.K. presence and the disputes they handle in the U.K.

About the Role

As the U.K. Legal Reporter on the Reuters Legal News team, you will:

• Write about high-profile lawyers and court matters, including big-ticket litigation involving the world’s largest companies, and identify broader trends and key cases as they develop
• Collaborate with our legal reporters in the U.S., including video and data reporters
• Stay on top of spot news and be continually pitching deeper dives and enterprise pieces
• Demonstrate beat expertise and dominance
• Work seamlessly with Reuters teammates

About You

You’re a fit for the role of U.K. Legal Reporter if you have:

• Sources in the U.K. legal industry and a familiarity with the leading players in international law
• An ambition to break news, a commitment to accuracy and a keen attention to detail
• A minimum of four years of experience as a journalist, ideally with at least two years of experience covering legal industry and litigation news in the U.K.
• Ability to work from London area, preferably. Location may be flexible for the right candidate
