Thomson Reuters is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager, Corporate Development opportunity. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development, this individual will work closely with the rest of the Corporate Development team members to drive and execute the Corporation’s initiatives, focused on divestitures with opportunity to support acquisitions and Joint Ventures. The Manager will partner closely with senior members of the team to assist with the management of transactions throughout all stages, with a heavy focus on due diligence preparation and coordination. This individual will lead executing and closing on M&A opportunities including supporting marketing, due diligence activities, financial modeling, and participation in negotiations. This role provides strong opportunities for career progression within Thomson Reuters. This role is highly visible and provides an opportunity to demonstrate the ability to analyze and execute in a wide range of circumstances. About the Role: In this opportunity as Manager, Corporate Development, you will: Prepare financial models, stranded costs, and deal related costs Prepare marketing materials for assets to be divested Manage outside advisers, bankers, accounting firms and law firms Track deal related costs Manage due diligence processes Support development of divestment thesis Develop industry contacts and network of advisors Understand key drivers of divisional and shareholder value Facilitate the sharing of best practices across all business units with other members of the Corporate Development team Nurture a culture which fosters creativity, innovation and a self-motivated team to drive business forward Scope and Impact: Support of divestitures, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and any non-organic initiatives Participation in cross-business groups (made up of leaders of each business) across Thomson Reuters Develop strong relationships with both internal clients and third parties / advisors About You You’re a fit for the role of Manager, Corporate Development if your background includes: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred 5+ years of experience in Finance, Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy and/or M&A is preferred Ability to quickly gain extensive knowledge of Thomson Reuters’ strategy, markets and competitive landscape. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (company valuation, probability modeling, game theory etc.) Ability to prioritize and multi-task multiple deals concurrently Potential to communicate complex concepts to a broad audience, including senior management Customer relationship management skills and strong focus on delivering results.
