About the role: As a DevOps Lead, you will design, implement, and maintain DevOps continuous delivery pipelines to manage from code build to deployment and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as code practices to meet business needs. Act as the DevOps SME: Have a deep understanding of modern DevOps development tools and practices involved with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Testing/Security and Continuous Monitoring/Observability Value Stream Management – introduce Value Stream Management to leaders and practitioners within Commercial Engineering; work with application SMEs to identify the current state of DevOps, assist in mapping the future state and use lean metrics to measure the progress. Be a Technical Leader and Coach: effectively define and coach on the best practices of DevOps for all the CI/CD tools and capabilities that are being proposed; guide the DevOps Engineers to build /enable DevOps capabilities and practices. In addition, the individual should be able to work with the Application Delivery directors to ensure there is alignment of DevOps strategy to application delivery. Lead team members through practices and tools enablement, including a focus on automation and defining new ways of working, along with a modern development toolset Drive improvements to Developer efficiency. Be a Team Player – work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, respect diverse ideas, interact with customer, partner with cross functional and remote teams. Provide analysis and design reviews to other members and groups within the department to avoid duplication of efforts in solving the same application problem within different products. Be Curious & Innovative – continuously update yourself with next generation technology, development tools, and contribute to process development practices. Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating capabilities within the company's products. Be proactive: Proactively investigate, design, configure / integrate and test process control solutions to a variety of technical problems. Be Agile – with strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment to deliver solutions against strict timelines. Be an Effective Communicator – articulate complex technical issues, and share ideas, participate in peer-reviews/design review boards, and exhibit strong listening skills. Focus on Continuous Improvement and Technical Standards –Drive improvements in productivity, architecture for software development, prepare technical specifications and, leverage development best practices as a part of daily responsibilities like code review, build and release etc. The individual should be able to help in establishing a standard set of metrics and report on the improvement opportunities for applications/business processes. You are fit for the role of a DevOps Engineering Lead if you have: Basic qualifications: 8+ years of relevant work experience in DevOps Should have hands on and good understanding of DevOps tools and automation frameworks. Demonstrated hands-on experience with DevOps techniques building continuous integration and continuous delivery solutions using Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions Experience in configuration management tools Experience with implementation of Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Experienced with n-tier web application development. Experience in CI/CD implementation for SaaS products like Salesforce, SAP, AEM, Boomi Experience with Kubernetes and other container management solutions Working experience in cloud computing preferably AWS, knowledge of various AWS services for CI/CD implementation. Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk or any other monitoring tools/processes Experience working in Agile environments. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and ability to follow through to completion. Experience in coaching junior members in the team Remove roadblocks and solve large scale problems including working with teams across all business segments. Have a creative ability to identify key metrics and measure results to track the DevOps transformation progress.
