Reuters is looking for two managers for its digital desk in Bangalore. The managerial position is tailor-made for a dynamic journalist, who will lead a team of multimedia news producers and digital/social video editors from Bangalore. The successful candidate should think on her/his/their feet, be nimble enough to pick up important news stories from the wire, help produce and display them tastefully on the web, and proof read/rewrite content for our various social platforms, including Google panels. S/he/they will also be expected to liaise with senior newsroom leaders and stakeholders in and outside of Bangalore and help with the teams’ streamlining efforts on Reuters Ready. This is a high-profile job and requires a candidate who can inspire trust and confidence from senior managers, and his/her/their team alike. S/he/they must build strong relationships with colleagues in the U.S., the UK, Canada and Gdansk, across departments, be able to wield influence and troubleshoot when problems arise. The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic and aggressive news consumer, who can effectively prioritize and manage the flow of news. This person will also bring ideas to build a rich multimedia suite of stories for our media clients and will drive efforts to increase our image association rate on packages. The successful candidate should be able to coach and help less experienced folks hone their ideas and sharpen their news skills. S/he/they must also have a flair for innovation, with the ability to quickly understand the technology behind editorial tools and explore ways to leverage it.
