Job Description – Lead Systems Engineer, Wintel We are looking to add an energetic and self-motivated Lead Systems Engineer, Wintel to our high performing team of Systems Engineers providing operational support for all Thomson Reuters Professional Windows and Virtualization Environments. This role will serve as lead in architecting and implementing technological solutions within windows and virtualization environment. This individual must exhibit strong technical, communication, collaboration, as well as time and project management skills that will help in designing the VMware vSphere infrastructure and virtualization direction for the team. Mandatory Skills and experience 7+ years of relevant IT experience that includes technical and leadership exposure Experience leading recovery from major incidents Minimum 3 years of experience as Senior or Tech lead in an IT organization with large-scale data center operations. Remote management of Windows systems located in various datacenters across the world Windows server OS knowledge: Windows 2019, Windows 2016, Windows 2012. Working knowledge involving volumes from SAN and NAS and clear understanding of CIFS. Understanding of iSCSI and Fiber Channel Experience with snapshot technologies such as NetApp Snapshots and SnapDrive Hands on experience in resolving system performance issues, root cause analysis and complex problems. Level 3 – Windows systems administration Experience communicating effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing Evaluating/analyzing impact and risk of planned changes to DC infrastructure Logical and methodical approach to problem solving. Few years of direct customer service experience would be a plus. Windows Failover cluster support experience Good at time management. Experience in an ITIL process environment Exhibit strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. Scripting experience in PowerShell will be an added advantage. Serve as an escalation point for operational technical issues at the team level. Lead major technical initiatives across the workgroup. Participate in root cause analysis for incidents as appropriate. Utilize change and incident management systems to achieve highly available enterprise systems. Familiar with Storage, Network and Database technologies. Willing to work in 24x7 support. Education and Experience Computer Science/Electronics or any equivalent 7 - 10 years of relevant IT experience Desired Certifications: MCP/ MCSE / MCSA/MCITP/ ITIL foundation.
