    Position summary

    Are you passionate about DevOps, cloud environments, data and automation? Thomson Reuters is seeking an experienced Data Automation engineer. The team is responsible for streamlining, integrating, and automating Data and Analytics governance infrastructures, tools, and processes to deliver effective and fast governance experiences across the organization. About the Role In this opportunity as Sr. Data automation engineer, you will: Document, baseline and maintain a consolidated/integrated Information Architecture design across critical systems. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain critical systems, relational databases, and web servers. You enjoy integrating various systems and performing ETL in near-real time. Contribute design and development of automation, monitoring, and instrumentation tools to reduce operational friction and increase governance efficiency. Recommend performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications. Analyze current development code repositories and build processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to the deployment processes to align with a modern CI/CD pipeline. Contribute towards the creation and design of intuitive, robust, and reusable enterprise software deployment pipelines as a service (PaaS) • Leverage virtual assets to support virtualization of any incomplete/unavailable code, service, or Database, and has basic knowledge of test data management to reuse automated test data provisioning capabilities to be able to adopt a standard test data toolset Implement source code management opportunities to leverage tools and engineering practices (DevOps tools and processes, SV, monitoring tools and processes etc. Actively investigate new DevOps technologies and make recommendations to management regarding best practices, system reliability and performance and find cost-effective solutions. Be a team player and technical advocate, keen to flush out and share ideas with your team and Information Security, Data Lake, and Architectural teams. Collaborates in setting development guidelines and reviews technical designs to ensure compliance with standards. About You You’re a fit for the role of Sr. Data automation engineer if your background includes the following: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a similar program, • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience to code packing, designing, developing, and deploying the CI/CD and Cloud solutions for Java, .Net, JavaScript, Unix scripts and Database. • Familiarity with object-oriented programming with Python, C+, Fivetran, AWS Lambda Experience with Web Applications, Experience with messaging and database software (SQL, Snowflake, Azure Service Bus, SQL Server). Ability to write Automation scripts with Dell Boomi and Knowledge of communication network protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP. Experience with Microservices, ServiceNow, GitHub, and ADO will be considered an asset. Experience with Windows Server Administration ( Active Directory, Group Policy, Desired state configuration (DSC) Strong knowledge and experience with Agile methodology and/or an established release protocol Nice-to-have Experience with OneTrust, Alation, Data Catalog, Azure DevOps Experience with Public and Private cloud knowledge, skills and experiences (Azure, AWS) What’s in it For You?
