As a Strategic Market Development Director, you will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships and leading M&A opportunities in Japan. This is a high impact role that reports directly into the Japan Country lead with a dotted line into the regional Strategy lead. You will work with cross-functional teams in Japan and across the globe, in an entrepreneurial environment. About the Role In this opportunity as Strategic Market Development Director, you will: Build strategic partnerships and M&A pipeline including identifying/screening potential partners and engaging with them Drive outcomes for strategic partnerships Engage with potential M&A targets and support execution of M&A Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess capabilities and fit of partners and M&A targets Develop external network and engage with key market players Strategic market analysis: provide deep market insights on strategic topics, provide competitive assessment and develop recommendations for key growth opportunities About You You’re a fit for the role of the Strategic Market Development Director if your background includes: Minimum of 5-10 years of work experience in a consulting or corporate development function at a leading management consulting firm or multinational organization Native Japanese speaker and business proficiency in English Strong network and/or experience in the technology space with a focus on Legal Technology or Enterprise technology (Tax, Trade/Supply chain) Ability to engage with C-level executives Strong presentation skills, verbal and written High level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word Comfort working in a matrixed environment with global colleagues Ability to prioritize key opportunities and influence stakeholders to drive outcomes What’s in it For You?
