Systems Engineer

Job Description Works to identify risks & issues following appropriate escalation procedures. Independently provides proactive problem management in order to deliver high service levels. May follow up on root cause analysis and resolution of problems. Collaborates on Technical Recovery plans and takes part in technical recovery for major incidents within your defined area. Provides assistance for the reduction in volume and mean time to recover incidents in your business unit by providing high level, independent trouble shooting on technical issues. Produces, delivers, and maintains appropriate documentation for systems in accordance document control standards and procedures. Works and cooperates with internal and external groups when required in order to fully support environments and maintain service. Adheres to change management procedures in defining, planning and implementing change in such a way that ensures appropriate coordination with other teams, minimizes service disruption, and ensures adherence to Service Level Agreements. Adheres and contributes to the definition and implementation of operating procedures and operability on new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to defined operations standards. Collaborates with business, third party vendors, developers, application support and technical operations groups to determine appropriate hardware/software needed and to resolve any issues impacting the application processes. Responsible to seek out all information and to fully understand all aspects of each device’s technology configuration and uses all approved engineering tools available to implement conforming change. Packages company approved hardened versions of targeted Linux operating systems. Ensures stack of agents for management systems are properly installed and connected. Maintains patch levels in accordance with change management and security standards. Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Experience: 3+ years of relevant Linux experience Work hours: 2nd shift – 14:00 – 23:00 IST 24*7 rotation including night shifts. Shifts rotated on a monthly basis, total night shift not to exceed one month per quarter per calendar year.
