https://U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the https://U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep https://U.S. users safe. Our focus is on providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and user data in the https://U.S., so millions of Americans can continue turning to TikTok to learn something new, earn a living, express themselves creatively, or be entertained. The teams within USDS that deliver on this commitment daily span Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, Corporate Functions and more.

The Threat Detection and Response department in TikTok USDS is primarily responsible for threat detection, intelligence, incident response, and forensics. The TDR team in comprised of technical security practitioners, developers, and DFIR experts who work to protect trust in TikTok and our US users' data.


  • Collaborate on the continuous evolution and development of appropriate e-Discovery policies, procedures, workflows, and the selection of eDiscovery review software/platforms and services in support of the Global Legal Team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business system administrators and developers regarding the development of eDiscovery supporting functionality and capabilities.
  • Interacting with designated matter custodians, including supporting and/or conducting custodial interviews.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including Forensics, IT system administrators and data security personnel, to preserve and collect data for litigation and other legal purposes.
  • Assist in the execution of various e-discovery workflows including; legal holds, preservation, data collection, processing, data culling and review.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information security or like discipline from an accredited college or university or measurable knowledge/experience from proven industry, military, defense, or government operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of litigation discovery experience, including data preservation, collection, scoping and review of data from a broad array of repositories and systems, including proprietary systems.
  • Significant strategic eDiscovery program development insight. Preferably from an in-house perspective.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks with a broad spectrum of stakeholders at the same time.
  • Proven ability to function well under pressure in order to quickly and effectively prioritize resources and achieve positive results.
  • Possess a collaborative outlook and approach to working across diverse business functionalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity and interpersonal skills.
  • Curious and creative problem solver -In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office for 3 days a week, as directed by their manager.
