About the Team: Our legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright, and capable legal professionals to join the team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for the Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team at TikTok. The CSR organization designs and implements the global sustainability and social impact strategy, working collaboratively across disciplines to bring the right resources, expertise, and experience to each aspect of CSR and Environmental Social Governance (ESG). The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role. Responsibilities: - Serving as lead counsel to support the CSR business teams, including strategy and product teams with holistic legal support on transactional and product work with an emphasis on social impact projects. - Providing counseling and drafting & negotiating agreements related to donation programs, ESG governance & reporting, employee engagement programs, and a wide array of vendor agreements with varying levels of complexity. - Coordinate with cross-functional legal and functional teams, including privacy, product, employment, IP legal and public policy, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues. - Draft terms of use, product policies, and disclosures, and implement related processes for new products and features. - Manage, negotiate and close complex commercial transactions that contribute to product global success and growth. - Provide insights into how the company can work within the law and regulations to create CSR product experiences for its users. Qualifications: - J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. - 7+ years of experience practicing law, including some government experience and in-house at a global technology companies or , ideally with experience supporting CSR business teams or experience managing across multiple regions. - Knowledge of ESG, social impact and CSR industry best practices, and leading-edge sustainability trends and concepts is preferred. - Prior experience supporting a heavy volume of commercial transactions across various business functions in a fast-paced environment - Experience practicing law at a top-tier law firm is a plus - Outstanding analytical, communication, organizational, negotiation, and drafting skills - Excellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously - Demonstrated ability to develop effective internal and external stakeholder networks. - A strong work ethic and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
