Position summary

About our team: The Global Security Operation Center (GSOC) Manager is a key role within the Physical Security team of ByteDance. As the business is rapidly evolving with multiple locations around the globe, meeting the dynamic needs of our corporate customers requires flexibility, a bias for action, and wide-ranging skills. Location Options: Los Angeles, CA/ Austin, Texas/ New York, NY To further support this continuously growing enterprise, we are looking for a GSOC Operations Manager to manage teams in the AMS region. The manager will take the lead in coordinating responses to workplace incident management (WIM) events and other security or exigent incidents. The candidates must excel in people management and providing senior-level direction for operational and tactical response to issues encountered by their teams on the shift in the GSOC, be innovative and creative when working to solve problems and demonstrate good judgment while under pressure. They will also be able to operate autonomously, use discretion when dealing with sensitive information. Responsibilities: 1. Provide strategic direction and lead GSOC operators to manage all activities and emerging issues that occur on-shift; 2. Respond to escalations and provide direct assistance/communications to stakeholders; 3. Escalate issues as required by more senior-level management and/or business; 4. Lead initial crisis management functions in response to breaking events and works with regional crisis leads to incident escalation and handover; 5. Improve the monitoring and command center personnel assessment and other related standards and procedures; 6. Monitor and track metrics and key performance indicators for regular review; 7. Contribute to the development and/or maintenance of policies and procedures impacting GSOC efficacy. 1. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Intelligence, International Relations/Law, IT, Political Science, Crisis Management or related field; 2. At least 5+ years of experience managing a SOC(Security Operations Center), Security Communications Centre, Security/Alarm Monitoring Center, or other closely related operation; 3. Demonstrated working knowledge of Workplace Incident Management, Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity; 4. Have the ability of creative problem solving, and the desire to create and build new standard procedures; 5. Be able to work independently and be confident in decision-making, and during sudden, unanticipated, or unprecedented events or crises; 6. Have the ability to prioritize workload based on urgency; able to delegate tasks, and communicate to a range of audiences including to executive management; 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to concisely and effectively address questions while providing subject matter expertise on policy to associates and management across diverse regional sites.
