The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

    It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
    This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

    About the Team
    As an Investigation Analyst on our Trust & Safety team, you will be part of a group that detects, analyses, and mitigates platform threats across issue verticals and markets. You will both drive proactive detection workstreams, and support cross-functional partners in deep-dive investigations. You will also regularly use tools and processes to take out bad actors and content at scale from the platform.

    Responsibilities

    • You'll proactively search for and identify harmful trends and content by leveraging internal data, open-source intelligence, and/or third-party private intelligence
    • You'll work with teams across Trust & Safety to review and respond to risky trends, escalations, and metric changes across multiple channels with high quality, accuracy, and speed
    • You'll leverage tools to automate the control of bad content, to control bad content on the platform, and mitigate escalations
    • You'll identify gaps, problems, needs and come up with robust solutions with relative independence
    • You'll use learnings and data to influence other T&S teams in Product, Policy, Process, and Detection to make improvements to enhance the overall ecosystem

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • You have prior investigative and/or intelligence analysis work in Trust & Safety or a related area (fraud or integrity), combined with program management experience
    • You have English proficiency, along with complete fluency in Vietnamese, Japanese, or Punjabi as you will be predominantly covering the Vietnamese, Japanese, or Punjabi speaking market
    • You have strong and proven data analysis skills, and are open to proactively learning and using technical and tooling skills
    • You have a collaborative and open mindset to adapt to a constantly-evolving T&S environment and can prioritize multiple ongoing tasks and asks
    • Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
    • Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.

    Preferred qualifications

    • You have prior experience in a high-risk issue such as Hate, Mental Health, Minor Safety, or Human Exploitation
