About the team: Our legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the Global Legal team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for litigation matters in the countries where the platform operates. This position will be part of the Global Legal Litigation Department, and will partner and collaborate with the Americas Legal team focused on Brazil and Latin America, as well as Global Legal Privacy colleagues. The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role. Responsibilities General management of litigation for Brazil, reporting to the Senior Litigation Counsel, Brazil, including: - Handle general litigation, pre-litigation claims, electoral claims and all related matters. - Manage all aspects of litigation matters including fact-finding and analysis, strategy, case management, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation. - Manage consumer litigation and PROCON’s procedures, handling the requests in accordance with applicable laws and our platform policies. - Supervise and partner with outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, including the day-to-day running of matters, overall strategy, written work, and oral advocacy. - Identify potential litigation or regulatory risk and counsel the business to minimize exposure. - Support the company's global strategy for litigation and regulatory actions. Must have: - Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Brazil (OAB); - 12 to 15 years of experience specializing in litigation practice in Brazil; - Team player, strong people skills and ability to engage on all levels of the organization; - Proven track record of working under pressure, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously; - Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas of litigation practice: technology, intellectual property, consumer law, media (music and entertainment), data protection, electoral law and privacy; - Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
