https://U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the https://U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep https://U.S. users safe. Our focus is on providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and user data in the https://U.S., so millions of Americans can continue turning to TikTok to learn something new, earn a living, express themselves creatively, or be entertained. The teams within USDS that deliver on this commitment daily span Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, Corporate Functions and more.

The NOC team works with various teams to assist with the Deployment procedures; deploying code and configuration changes. NOC team also provides tier-1 support for the various mission critical applications and services. In the near future, the USTS NOC team will also be taking over monitoring aspects of various systems and services from other USTS teams as well.


  • Deploy software on servers
  • Provide daily operational support for the suite of Bytedance systems and services
  • Monitor the health and performance of the systems/services and respond to incidents/alerts as they arise and update stakeholders on issue resolution
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation; be flexible to work on nights and weekends, variable schedule, and overtime as necessary
  • Develop and document day to day processes for team collaboration, learning and training purposes
  • Apply configuration changes to applications and servers to support business initiatives
  • Be innovative in automating the daily routine tasks
  • Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of production systems Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience
  • Servers and application support experience is a plus
  • Linux/Unix Administration experience is a plus
  • Experience with ticketing and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence is a plus
  • Strong analytics and communication (both written and oral) skills are required
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure well in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge and experience supporting Kubernetes environment
  • Knowledge of Docker/container technologies
  • Familiarity with incident review processes, to understand root cause of issues and follow-up to ensure proper fixes are deployed
  • Monitoring experience with Grafana
  • Experience with databases, running/executing queries (Redis, MySQL)
  • Experience working in a micro-services environment
  • Comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams to understand servers/services setup, and work with them to come up with monitoring solutions based on best practice
  • Familiarity with networking LAN, WAN, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SSH troubleshooting
