Team Insight: The Data Systems Infrastructure (DSI) team sits within the ByteDance global technology structure and supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyper-scale datacenters, managing the life cycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions, and developing various infrastructure services, making sure they are scalable and are reliable. Role Insight: The DSI team is growing across UK and Ireland and we are looking to hire a Production Systems Engineer in London to support the fast growth and manage the massive content on the platform. ByteDance's infrastructure team is building hyber-scale datacenters globally which host hundreds of thousands of servers. As the Production System Engineer, you will manage the full lifecycles of ByteDance's server fleet, including initial deployment, OS installation, service provisioning, inventory management, troubleshooting and repairs, and eventually decommissioning and recycles. Responsibilities - Work cross-function on large-scale data center projects and initiatives including datacenter buildout and server deployment. - Perform deep dives on complex technical issues within the data center, ranging from software bugs, hardware failures to network issues.
 - Own policies and procedures for the day to day operations to ensure a secure and smooth production environment. - Build tools and automations to improve the operational efficiency.

 - BS in technical field or commensurate experience.
 - Knowledge of Linux and hardware systems in a production environment.
 - Knowledge of the interdependencies of data center functions and technologies.
 - Experience in shell scripting or programming languages PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with massive remote OS installation such as PXE boot. - 
Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI and NCSI.

Experience in providing technical guidance to external vendors.
 - Time and project management experience.
