In order to meet the social network feature requirements continuously, you will focus on improving the quality and stability of social features in TikTok, including building smooth workflow, different types of testing methods, testing framework and testing tools.
As an intern, you will need to learn quickly. Focus on 1 or several technology challenges and brings solutions that can prove its output by business results.
You will have the opportunity to be coached by experienced mentors, work with all talented engineers globally, and understand TikTok's proprietary technologies, tools and processes.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:
Monday, May 12
Monday, May 19
Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 26)
Monday, June 9
Monday, June 23

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Online Assessment (Only for RD)
Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment in HackerRank.

Responsibilities

1. As a QA engineer intern, work with Frontend, Backend engineer teams on social new feature products. Delivery product/technical feature from end to end.
2. Build API test harness and improve API test coverage
3. Contribute to building quality tools for social feature products

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang, experience in related project development.
3. Fluent in Python
4. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
5. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025;

Preferred Qualifications

1. Good understanding of RPC/REST API web services
2. Good understanding of software development cycle, and software quality and testing
3. Fluent in Python
4. Experienced in automation testing framework
5. Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
