    The Team
    The European Content Regulation team focuses on advising the business on the implementation of, and ongoing compliance with, content focused laws in the region. These include the Digital Services Act in the EU and the Online Safety Bill in the UK. This is a new and developing area of the law so provides many interesting and novel legal challenges.

    The Role

    We are looking for a highly motivated EU/UK qualified mid-senior level lawyer who can support on a wide range of content regulation matters in Europe, handling complex legal issues and supporting the implementation of novel and high profile laws in the region. This role can be based in one of the following locations; Dublin, Paris, Brussels, London or Berlin and will play a central role in the EMEA legal team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Advising on laws and regulations relating to content and safety, in particular the Digital Services Act in the EU, the Online Safety Act in the UK and the Online Safety and Media Regulation Act in Ireland, with a focus on the implementation and ongoing compliance;
    • Supporting our Trust & Safety organisation in leading TikTok's compliance efforts in the region;
    • Providing advice to Product Legal, Compliance teams and relevant business teams;
    • Assisting with regulatory engagement in conjunction with the Government Relations and Compliance teams;
    • Closely collaborating and coordinating with regulatory and litigation lawyers, product, public policy and communications teams on regulatory matters and policy strategies, external communication, and investigations; and
    • Working with and managing external counsel as necessary.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Senior Lawyer with 8+ years in a regulatory legal compliance role from a well regarded private practice team or established in-house department;
    • Experience advising on laws relating to user generated content, including the Digital Services Act and OSMR in the EU and Online Safety Bill in the UK;
    • Ability to manage a large number and variety of high profile and strategic projects and navigate ambiguous legal and regulatory environments;
    • Previous experience of advising on the practical implementation of new laws;
    • Ability to work as a team player who can effectively work with, manage and coordinate colleagues, internal stakeholders and the business;
    • Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity; and
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proficient in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organisation.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Background in consumer-facing tech and/or digital media, or a solid understanding of these industries from private practice.
