Position summary

We're currently looking for a dynamic and seasoned Trust & Safety communications professional to join our fast-paced global communications team. In this role you'll collaborate with key stakeholders on a range of initiatives to help promote our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for all people who use our app. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about storytelling and media relations with a proven ability to easily distill and communicate complex safety, regulatory, and tech policy issues. You also have strong crisis comms experience and a passion for addressing Trust & Safety related issues. Ideal candidates have excellent media and analytical skills and can collaborate with ease across teams around the globe. You're good at connecting the dots and you instinctually understand the Trust & Safety landscape as it relates to both challenges and opportunities for technology companies. You're resilient, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and you're able to respond to a range of situations with empathy and a people-first mindset. Ideally, you also have a baseline understanding of the current US political environment. TikTok has global offices including Los Angeles, Mountain View, New York, London, Dublin, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul, and Tokyo. Responsibilities: - Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders on Trust & Safety matters to help guide communications on the development of products, services and policies to ensure message accuracy and consistency - Develop and deliver strategic communications plans and programs that advance priorities, including reactive and proactive communications and outreach - Proactively and reactively engage regularly with media, creators, and other key stakeholders - Prepare spokespeople for media interviews and speaking engagements - Manage through issues media cycles, ensuring prompt engagement and fact-checking of coverage - Work closely with the Global Comms team and serve as a sounding board to others on Trust & Safety initiatives - 8+ years of communications experience - Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills - Established relationships with tech and business media - A self-starter who is motivated, takes initiative, and works well in a fast-paced environment - Strong crisis comms experience preferred - An interest in mentoring others and policy media relationships are both a plus - Minimum BA or BS degree required TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
