Our Browser Kernel team aims at providing first-class Web Engine and tools for speed, security, and stability, and is responsible for promoting the Web ecosystem inside TikTok.
We're looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Browser Kernel Team. In this role, you will focus on making the Web engine more performant, stable, and productive.
As a software engineer in the team, you will:
- Enrich Chromium/Blink to adopt new capabilities and implement new web APIs
- Design and implement features to improve Web performance, security, and stability
- Work with frontend developer to optimize overall user experience by exploring general SSR/NSR solutions
- Extend the capability of the WebView/Container component for Hybrid App usage
- Create tools to help for diagnosing, profiling, and evaluating Web Pages
Required:
- Bachelor degree in computer science or a related technical discipline with 5+ years' industry experience;
- Familiar with C/C++/Java or similar languages;
- Experience with web platform, e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.
Preferred:
- Experience developing and integrating with web browser engines (Chromium/Blink, WebKit, etc.)
- Experience with the Android operating system
- Experience with computer graphics, GPU programming (e.g. HLSL, GLSL, or similar)
- Deep understanding of web development best practices (e.g. Performance, Memory, etc)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $280000 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
