    Position summary

    rive the functionality and capability of our infrastructure to the next level. Our team builds kubernetes/k8s based global edge platform to manage TikTok's self-built CDN PoPs, supporting workload and service management, providing L4/L7 ingress and service mesh cpability, and enabling dynamic traffic routing and scheduling. Edge Platform team operates hundreds of POPs and their networking and traffic around the world to run edge workloads (e.g. CDN cache, live streaming, gaming, real-time communication, etc.). The L4/L7 ingress with traffic scheduling capability are the core part of the platform, as most edge workloads are networking intensive. We are looking for passionate engineers to join and work together to build a cloud-native edge platform that provides one-stop solutions for edge services.

    Responsibilities
    -Design traffic infra solutions in kubernetes/k8s environment, driving feature development via cooperation with developers, own and maintain Edge platform networking infra service.

    • Build the traffic infrastructure and improve its stability and reliability.
    • Design and conduct the L7/L4 deployment and management to support traffic scaling.
    • Develop automation tools for traffic related components.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree (or bachelor's degree with 3+) years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related major
    • 3+ years' experience working with traffic systems from CDNs to loadbalancers.
    • 3+ years' experience working with network devices, remote management systems, and client-server protocols.
    • 3+ years' experience in one or more programming languages such as Go, or scripting experience in Shell and Python.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of network infrastructure and/or routing
    • Experience with Layer 4 / Layer 7 loadbalancers
    • Knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, RPC, TLS etc
    • Experience with Kubernetes and CNI

    [For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

    The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $280000 annually.

    Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
