Position summary

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. TikTok has global offices including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul and Tokyo. TikTok's Frontend team is responsible for bringing joy to users using web technology and making positive impacts. The main goals of the team are to drive TikTok's core user experience, user growth, front-end infra/tooling, as well as complete cross functional operations. Our team works on different products, including: - Using hybrid solutions to deliver key product features in the mobile app, so that users can get updates without any app version updates; - Building www.tiktok.com. You will be working on pages directly seen by millions of users on a daily basis. We focus on core web vitals to improve user experience, as well improve information architecture to benefit SEO; - Bringing TikTok experience to the Living Room using web technology. We launched TikTok for Samsung TV in 2020 and will continue advancement in product and technology; - Creating and managing various internal web applications which are critical to TikTok's growth and ecosystem. As a member of TikTok's Frontend team, you will: 1. Work closely with product manager and designer to deliver state of the art user experience in the above products mentioned; 2. Build world-class frontends, which combine usability, accessibility, elegance, performance, and maintainability; 3. Adopt automated and manual test strategies to ensure product quality; 4. Learn and understand how TikTok product works and help build end-to-end solutions; 5. Learn and grow from working with great colleagues and taking on challenges; 6. Help our team grow from your expertise, experience, and perspectives. 1. BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related major, 2+ years of industry experience in a software development environment; 2. Proficiency in Javascript, ES5/6, CSS, and various layouts; 3. Experience in solving CSS/JS multi-browser compatibility problems and front-end performance optimization; 4. Understanding of construction and continuous integration, familiarity with at least one construction tool; 5. Understanding of component-based development ideas, familiarity with React, Angular, Vue.js, or any other equivalent library / framework; 6.
