    https://U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the https://U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep https://U.S. users safe. Our focus is on providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and user data in the https://U.S., so millions of Americans can continue turning to TikTok to learn something new, earn a living, express themselves creatively, or be entertained. The teams within USDS that deliver on this commitment daily span Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, Corporate Functions and more.

    About Team The security team is missioned to run and operate security infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in deploying and maintaining scalable and secure-by-design systems and solutions. Our challenges are not your regular day-to-day technical problems; you'll be part of a team that's developing new solutions to new challenges of a kind not previously addressed by big tech. It's working fast, at scale, and we're making a difference.

    Responsibilities:

    • Traige production incidents and attempt to mitigate or escalate to service support teams as necessary.
    • This is not a helpdesk position where you are just creating tickets, but an opportunity to grow into a Site Reliability Engineering role.
    • While your primary focus would be to triage and manage production incidents, there are plenty of opportunities to:
      • Work with infrastructure, product and platform engineering teams to operate and deploy software services.
      • Participate in capacity planning.
      • Maintain sustainable reliability and scalability of software systems by improving automation to measure and monitor availability, latency and overall system health.
      • Consistently evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve system reliability and release velocity.
      • Practice sustainable incident response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Required Qualifications:
    • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant majors with 2+ years of working experience.
    • Experience in scripting languages but not limited to: Bash, Python
    • Experience in working with Unix Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond;
    • Experience in analyzing and debugging production issues at scale.
    • Understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts, approaches, methods, and tooling.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands on experience with large cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
    • Code Infrastructure and Service Orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
