About the Team Recommendation algorithm team plays a central role in the company, driving critical product decisions and platform growth. The team is made up of machine learning researchers and engineers, who support and innovate on production recommendation models and drive product impact. The team is dynamic, fast-pacing, collaborative and impact-driven. Combining engineering knowledge and machine learning expertise, the Recommendation team is directly responsible for driving the rapidly growing DAU at TikTok. Responsibilities -Own backend/systems work for TikTok short video platform. Building world class distributed system in C++, Python, and Java. Building system and infrastructure for supporting Product ML Engineers in the Recommendations team and operation team. -Own the design and implementation of online services, offline data processing systems. These online services and offline systems will directly translate into user engagement metrics, developer efficiency, and stability. -Implement scalable compute, storage, monitoring, debug system for product teams. -Improve the efficiency of hardware, people, company through technology and management techniques -Experience: All levels, from new grad to industry veterans. -Ownership and proactive thinking, adaptive to the rapidly changing technical landscape in TikTok. -Good data structure and programming capability (in any modern programming language). -Bonus if having ACM-ICPC experience. -Have good taste technically, open to learn, interested in working as a world class engineer.
