About the Role With more than 1 billion loyal users globally, TikTok is the ideal platform to deliver a brand new and exciting shopping experience to our users. The Home & Living Category Lead serves as the business leader responsible for building the foundation for the Home & Living category for TikTok Commerce in North America. This person will develop the go-to-market strategy, prioritize key initiatives, and build and lead a talented category team to expand our partnership with enterprise and key account partners, and influence the shopping experience for Home & Living shoppers.

  • Develop the overall Home & Living category growth strategy - define goals, identify opportunities across brands, segments, and trends, and lead commercial operations
  • Hire and develop a strong team of Home & Living category managers and coach the team in setting short and long-term goals, growth milestones, and tracking performance towards merchant and sales objectives
  • Coach and lead the category management team to grow their brands through rigorous business operation, creative content and campaigns, and by leveraging the TikTok platform
  • Guide Category Managers on consultative, client-centric selling and best-in-class presentations, and develop Category Managers for career growth and industry expertise
  • Consult with and advise senior Brand leaders on TikTok Shop's value proposition, how it can drive their brand strategy, and create partnerships at scale
  • Partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop, identify, and implement effective merchant content and merchandising programs Required Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years' experience in e-commerce or digital-led Retail in Brand-driven categories
  • 3+ years of experience as people manager
  • Track record of delivering & exceeding sales, GMV, or other commercial goals
  • Experience leading business development, partnerships, or sales at senior leadership levels
  • Experience hiring & developing talent and operating high-performing commercial teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A combination of experience on both the platform/Retail side, and the Brand/Merchant side
  • Experience with TikTok or other content-driven platforms or content-based commerce on either brand or platform side
  • Ability to recruit and retain top talent
  • Strong network and connections with brands, retailers, and sellers is a plus
  • MBA
