    E-commerce's Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality. Our Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations are run out of London and Dublin.

    The Brand & Industry Relations function sits within the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) sub-department of our Governance and Experience org. It engages directly with a wide network of stakeholders including rights holders, IPR associations, government bodies and law enforcement agencies which focus on IPR, as well as service. We strive to understand external partners' brand protection needs and collaborate on initiatives aimed at continually improving IPR protection outcomes. You will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining important relationships between our organisation and external partners, while driving new forms of cooperation to achieve common objectives.

    What the Team Does:

    Brand Owner Cooperation: Build productive relationships within the brand owner community, gathering IPR concerns raised to drive internal efforts to effectively resolve them. Deliver new cooperation programmes with special initiatives to tackle issues of common concern, and deliver tangible IPR protection outcomes.

    IPR Industry Associations & Conferences: Engage with industry associations and participate in their events, raising awareness of opportunities to protect IPR on TikTok Shop, encouraging use of enforcement tools and new initiatives.

    IPR Official Body Engagements: Cooperate closely with Public Policy teams to support communications with governmental IPR departments, as well as non-governmental industry bodies. Cultivate a network of stakeholders to support Government and Experience strategy and build the contacts necessary to deliver upon it.

    Test Purchases and Offline IPR Investigations: Develop and optimise test-buy programme to support teams in responding to and investigating suspected product authenticity issues (especially counterfeits and piracy). Develop network of brand owners which can authenticate products, and drive offline investigations in collaboration with the Law Enforcement Outreach team.

    Public Awareness: Plan and deliver events and activities to promote awareness of TikTok Shop's IPR protection programme within the industry. Coordinate closely with Public Relations teams on any publications about TikTok's work in IPR, including transparency reporting.

    This role reports to Head of Brand & Industry Relations, IPR, with the team envisaged to grow in the coming year.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in a brand protection role, IPR-related governmental body or association, or in brand relations at an e-commerce or social media platform.
    • Understanding of IPR regulations, legislative processes, and industry dynamics.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
    • Analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable strategies.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in European languages is a plus, given the need to cooperate with stakeholders from across the region, and occasionally review compliance documents in multiple languages.
    • Experience working in e-commerce or social media risk governance.
    • Master's degree or law degree, or equivalent professional experience.
