Program & Project Manager, e-Commerce Distribution Services

Job Summary
Manage and support the Fulfillment/Distribution Services network by creating structure and practices to guide the organization’s programs and projects and to provide senior level leadership, oversight, and control to those programs and projects. Strategically manage and facilitate the relationship between the oversight effort and overall business needs and direction. Encompasses all decision-making roles and responsibilities involved with the managing and executing of the required programs and projects. Works to ensure that the organization’s effort achieves the outcome specified from the networks programs and strategies.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the program management of all current and future construction and development projects. This includes the oversight and management of Engineering, Construction, Property Development, IT (hardware and applications), Distribution Services, Human Resources and other teams as it relates to the distribution center construction projects. Ensures that all operational areas have the support and resources to deliver their related tasks on time and on budget. This role includes the daily governance and management of all parties involved in the project. Ensures timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and ultimate disposition of project information. Provides risk management planning, response planning, and monitoring and control to increase the probability and impact of positive events and decrease the probability of negative events in the projects.
  • Responsible for the program management of the Warehouse Management System(s) (WMS) and all future enhancements and upgrades. Directs and manages people and other resources to accomplish project work. Manages, leads, and organizes the project teams. Defines the project scope of work to ensure the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project. Ensures timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and ultimate disposition of project information. Leads distribution team to estimate, budget, and control costs so that all WMS projects can be completed within the approved budget.
  • Responsible for providing oversight and program management to the leadership teams on the selection of Lean Six Sigma projects. Aids in the coordination and facilitation of Lean Six Sigma project selection process. Provides program management guidance and direction to the AVP Fulfillment Strategic Operations.
  • Leads and provides program management to the Distribution Services efforts for all future retail expansion projects. Manages, leads, and organizes the project teams related to future retail concept expansions. Manages the processes and activities needed to define, combine, unify, and coordinate the various activities related to the retail expansion concepts.
  • Responsible for the program management and coordination of all large scale Material Handling and Equipment (MHE) projects. Ensures that all projects are financially justified, developed within scope and completed in a timely manner. Coordinates and leads all aspects of related tasks and activities between FC Operations, Finance, Engineering, Transportation, Store Operations and other operational teams. Advises the Distribution Service leadership teams through the selection and initiation of major MHE distribution services projects. Defines project scope.
  • Special Projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years project management, operations or business management experience, preferably in the retail, supply chain, or MHE/automation space
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred knowledge of fulfillment operations and WMS (Manhattan WMS)
  • Strong communication and ability to present information to management
  • Ability to build partnerships across all levels of the organization
