Position Description:

The Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) organization embodies the hub of lifecycle engineering at TJX, delivering, maintaining, and optimizing our technology portfolio on a cloud scale. We are a service-oriented team aimed at providing extraordinary experiences to thousands of TJX associates, business partners, and application delivery teams across the portfolio. As a Staff Engineer supporting Core Oracle you will be part of an Agile Team working with Architects. Developers, and Operations delivering best practices across Oracle platforms. Your core responsibilities will be supporting Oracle Exadata, Oracle Cloud, and Oracle Database platforms.

Required Experience / Skills:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field plus minimum of 8 years of experience with Oracle Core, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database, and Oracle Cloud

• Must have a minimum of Eight (8) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Proven experience setting up/managing Oracle Databases on EXADATA platform (EXACC preferable).

• Proven experience with Real Application Clusters and ASM

• Support Oracle Data Guard solution for data migration and replication.

• Maintain core DBA responsibilities and ensure high availability and performance of the database systems.

• Perform installation/maintenance of Oracle Enterprise Manager, monitor all databases and fine-tune performance using OEM

• Perform regular database backups, restorations, and recovery processes.

• Experience working with ZFSSA (backup & recovery Practices)

• Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access controls and encryption.

• TLS/SSL certificate implementation/renewal understanding, TDE encryption knowledge.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and integrity.

• Expert level Performance Monitoring and Tuning (DB Tuning with Exa/ASM included)

• Proven experience: Design and implement database structures, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.

• Experience in implementing high availability and performance of the database systems.

• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Desired Skills/Experience (2 Years):

• Knowledge of observability tools and practices in a cloud environment

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Script/Code languages; PL/SQL script, Python,

• Experience with using Ansible, GitHub, Control-M, Jira, and Confluence

• Helping onboard and mentoring new hires, coaches, and mentoring team members

• Supporting Talent Acquisition process by performing technical interviews for hiring

• Technical application and service roadmaps including the recommendation and initiation of IT driven projects.
