What we’re looking for
Toyota’s Assembly Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to Support Production Operations in the Assembly Shop as an Engineer.
Reporting to the Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Assembly Department’s Hoshin as related to the senior engineering role.
What you’ll be doing
Lead tracking, communication, and support of Engineering Changes affecting Assembly shop.
Identify opportunities to simply existing/future equipment designs and lead implementation of these kaizens.
Function as primary engineering resource for Assembly shop
Design and procure tools and equipment for Assembly
ID Equipment Bottlenecks & countermeasure
Ensure Hoshin is implemented efficiently and effectively
Ensure all activity is in alignment to support Hoshin
Develop strategies and action plans to support achieving Hoshin targets.
Develop strategies for implementation of technology improvements in Assembly
Manage multiple engineering tasks and projects
Prepare reports and documentation for Special Projects
Support the creation of presentations & analysis for meetings as requested
Maintain and improve processes and systems for tracking tool quality information
Provide direction to drafting support team to design tools and jigs to aid assembly processes
Assist Production in the solving of technical and non-technical issues
Lead cross-functional activity with quality departments and other production shops to improve internal/ external quality and process ergonomics.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or other Technical Degree or equivalent professional experience
Automotive or Heavy Manufacturing experience (co-op or full-time experience)
Quality Problem-Solving experience (co-op or full-time experience)
Engineering project management experience (co-op or full-time experience)
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
Added bonus if you have
Plant Launch and/or New Model Launch experience
Cross-functional understanding of Automotive Manufacturing
Vehicle Final Assembly experience (co-op or full-time experience)
Production Tool and Equipment Mechanical Design or specification experience (co-op or full-time experience)
TMMTX experience
