    Who We’re Looking For

    Toyota Motors North America’s (TMNA) Information Technology Department is looking for Data Science Product Manager in the Customer Data Science team for Consumer and Marketing Portfolio.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to build scalable data science solution using customer and marketing data, help build customer/individual level of intelligence to help with automated decisioning for audience selection.

    Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Customer Data Science, the person in this role will support the Marketing Technology and Analytics department's objective to optimize marketing investment by building customer level intelligence like next best action, customer journey, etc.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across various groups across the organization to identify goals of developing new and existing features; identify opportunities to extract value from datasets to produce innovative solutions and solve focused analytical problems; develop a data science strategy and own the end-to-end execution. 
    • Take vague requirements and accurately determine when data science is needed to solve a problem, build a healthy backlog of stories and epics against business needs. Provide recommendations for approach, plans, programs, strategies, and budget
    • Work with scrum master to lead backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint reviews working through an agile team by providing accurate description of the work and providing acceptance criteria for all the stories. Help drive development from conception to launch
    • Proactively resolve any impediments impacting development efforts in active sprint by working with platform, governance, business, etc. and proactively take measures so that future impediments could be handled well in advance
    • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences, through clear visualizations and presentations and provide strategic direction and expertise necessary to understand and address key business questions.
    • Provide guidance to a team of data scientists and engineers to foster continuous improvement of the delivery and agile processes

    What You Bring

    • Intellectually curious with all thing data, a very skilled communicator who focuses as much as on the delivery of insights, as you do on the underlying technical solution 
    • Skilled in data science principles and a very good understanding around statistical models, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and other concepts.
    • Skilled in programming and database languages like Python and SQL and analytical tools like Tableau, Power BI and more. 
    • Expertise in product management, stakeholder engagement, expectation management and agile process. 
    • Excellent research and analytical skills
    • Degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics; advanced degree is desirable

    Added Bonus If You Have

    • Experience with Product management with multiple products
    • Experience with working in customer and marketing data science team
    • Experience with working with AWS based data science platform and working through compliance like CCPA and GDPR
