Who We’re Looking For
Toyota’s Data and Analytics Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Data Engineer, Cloud Data Platforms.
The primary responsibility of this role is to engineer best-in-class enterprise Data Platforms both on-prem and in the Cloud with cutting-edge technologies guided by principles of Agility, DevSecOps, and continuous innovation. This is an Individual Contributor role that requires working with cross-functional teams across the company to ensure the platforms are built for adoption with high standards of performance, and scalability while optimizing the cost and using emerging technologies in the Data universe.
Reporting to the [Manager, Data and Analytics Platforms], the person in this role will support the Data and Analytics department's objective to enable data-driven decision-making in our journey towards creating mobility for all.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead a team of database administrators managing cloud and on-prem environments.
• Ensure platforms are engineered for the availability and performance of database systems while optimizing the platform costs.
• Support app modernization and lead migration of databases from on-prem to cloud.
• Keep up with the latest trends, understand the competitive edge compared to similar product stacks, technology ideas, patterns, and methodologies.
• Drive the creation of roadmaps, maintain product portfolio components.
• Collaborate with Product owners, Enterprise architects, Business SMEs as well as different application teams.
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Progressive years of experience in database technologies.
• Extensive experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Aurora).
• Experience with cloud databases and cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
• Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting skills.
• Strong experience in SQL tools such as TOAD, Dbeaver, SQL Developer, PGADMIN.
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
• Understanding relational and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience in database migrations, upgrades.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to the management.
• AWS/GCP cloud certifications.
Added Bonus If You Have
• DBA certifications.
• Experience with Automobile and/or Manufacturing organizations.
