    TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

    The Manufacturing Engineering Manager position is responsible for supervising and leading manufacturing engineers and tooling technicians. This leadership position is responsible for process definition and evolution, as well as investigation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. The position oversees team members and participates in, the creation of complex CNC programs for 5 axis mills and multi axis turn-mill machines. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager has direct responsibility overseeing team members responsible for work holding / fixture design, cutting tool selection and tool assembly. A successful candidate will be a proven leader of people, fostering an environment of continual growth, technical advancement and team member accountability, within a highly dynamic and competitive environment. Candidate must be analytical, observant, focused, and detail orientated.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage Manufacture Engineers through the preparation of detailed project process plans with estimated project task hours and timelines for development and production engine component machining. Direct and coordinate engineering resources to complete engineering tasks on time to comply with development and production machining schedules and OEE requirements.
    • Oversee the research and development of new manufacturing equipment / software, processes, policies, standard operating procedures and work instructions. Improve manufacturing processes through review of all engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and adherence to engineering standards and project schedules. Review new product design and work with design engineering to identify areas for improved product manufacturability, reduced manufacturing cost, and improved process reliability.
    • Hire, train and mentor engineers and support staff to work to their full potential. Maintain department quality and performance metrics. Write performance reviews and solve departmental issues.
    • Review and write reports, approve expenditures, enforce rules. Recommend, plan and direct installation of new equipment. Communicate and collaborate with other managers and departments. Prepare and deliver engineering-related presentations as required.

     The minimum candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
    • 5+ years working in an engineering management role
    • Background in CNC machining
    • CAM programming experience, preferably using PowerMILL and or ESPRIT.
    • Expertise in engineering documentation standards, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    • The ability to interface with personnel throughout the Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain organizations in an efficient and productive way, including both oral and written communications
    • Knowledge of 3+2 and 5-axis CNC mill/turn programming.

     A preferred candidate will have:

    • Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering or engineering management required
    • 10+ years of engineering experience within a machining environment.
    • Management experience in a highly skilled engineering environment.
    • Experience in small volume/high quality, tight tolerance machining of engine components in an automated cell environment
    • Computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
    • Advanced CAM programming experience, using PowerMILL and or ESPRIT
    • Proven team leading communication and problem resolution skills and experience.

    The expected base pay range for this position is $138,720 - $225,420 per year.
