Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Environmental & Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Skilled Group Leader - Facilities Operations.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support manufacturing facility operations at the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina. Selected candidate will manage a team of 8 – 10 team member(s) / team leader(s).
Reporting to the Manager – Environmental & Facilities Operations, the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facilities Departments objective to help lead design and construction along with operational systems development for the new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina Greenfield Site.
What you’ll be doing :
Construction Phase ~ 2 yrs. (pre-SOP):
Lead by “Safety First” mindset, using principles such as ‘Customer First and Respect for Team Members’ along with learning & implementing the core foundation of the Toyota Production System in day to day operations.
Coach and develop Facilities Maintenance team members on daily basis, provide clear direction, technical resources, training & work plans
Creating facilities maintenance training programs and set-up
Supporting facilities equipment installation as listed but not limited to:
Equipment Buy-Off / Confirmation from Install to Operations Hand-Over
Vendor Training
Facility Team Member Training
Drawing review and approvals
Developing appropriate systems for overall start-up and check operations of all facilities systems
Supporting development of facilities equipment operations and monitoring, preventive maintenance, breakdown prevention and recovery processes
Post Construction (POST SOP):
Lead by “Safety First” mindset, using principles such as ‘Customer First and Respect for Team Members’ along with learning & implementing the core foundation of the Toyota Production System in day to day operations
Coach and develop Facilities Maintenance team members on daily basis, provide clear direction, technical resources, training & work plans
Supporting daily operations and maintenance for Plant utility and building systems – Power, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, water supply, wastewater and dust collection equipment
Tracking and identifying operational issues and problem solve with countermeasures via maintenance repairs, and/or contract support
Creating a standardized process(s) and documentation for various control systems
Supporting programming, troubleshooting, modifying and/or repairing programmable logic controllers for facilities engineering systems
Project planning and project management coordination for energy and water reduction
Lead activity to support Company Target(s) & Objective(s) such as Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Quality, Cost, etc.
Leading a team for daily response to equipment issues as not to impact and/or minimize downtime to production
Develop next generation of Facilities Maintenance Team Members
What you bring
Experience in Facilities Maintenance in manufacturing industry or equivalent military experience
Experience leading in a team environment
Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Mitsubishi PLC programming
Lead Preventive Maintenance activities
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues
Ability to read / understand mechanical & electrical schematics
Experience with preparing/developing technical presentation, developing others and relationship building
Demonstrated capability to perform systematic problem solving to identify root cause and countermeasures
Must be willing to work weekends
Facility Operations will ‘mimic’ production plan of 2/2/3 schedule with 12hr work days (Panama Schedule – 84 Hr 2 wk pay period)
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, including project management ability to make milestone schedules/work plans
Demonstrated ability to perform failure diagnosis, including identifying and reporting on failure of components
Ability to pass Toyota Skilled Maintenance Assessment Testing (Written & Practical)
What you may bring
2 or 4-year technical focused college degree (i.e. electrical / mechanical / industrial engineering)
Application knowledge of Floor Management system
Deep understanding of Workplace Organization (5S – Shift / Sort / Sweep / Sustain / Standardize)
Supervisory experience including conducting formal reviews and coaching to maximize performance
Experience training employees on changepoints or new systems
Experience making mid-term equipment improvement plans
Experience with cost management & cost reduction activities
