    Position summary

    well as North American assignments, as needed. Areas of focus will include establishing robust safety and industrial hygiene standards & procedures, support of site operations in implementing regional & local initiatives, and monitoring progress toward KPI targets. Additional responsibilities will include support of construction projects and monitoring the safety and industrial hygiene impact of new technologies.

    What you'll be doing

    • Guide compliance efforts for all applicable industrial hygiene, health, and safety regulations.

    • Perform IH risk assessments, develop sampling plans, conduct sampling of worker exposures to health agents.

    • Manage all IH data in Toyota's database system.

    • IH equipment management and calibration.

    • Maintain and manage chemical management system - perform material approvals.

    • Provide input and review job safety plans and consult on-site construction contractors as related to industrial hygiene.

    • Participate in safety culture improvement initiatives across Toyota.

    • Manage IH related programs such as: respiratory protection, hearing conservation, chemical hygiene plan, gas detection systems, hazard communication, radiation and laser safety.

    • Perform other related duties which includes but not limited to IH consultation and collaboration activities as needed.

    • Strong written and verbal communication a must.

    • Strong decision-making, organizational, and analytical skills needed.

    • Detail oriented and self-motivated. Experience working independently and as an effective team member.

    • Pro-active learner and open to constructive feedback.

    What you bring

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following: Occupational Safety & Health or Industrial hygiene-related program. Master's degree preferred.

    • Proven industrial hygiene (IH) experience developing, implementing, and managing safety programs.

    • Demonstrated experience managing projects requiring critical thinking (kaizen), problem solving, data analysis & verification.

    • Capable of developing and delivering presentations, generating effective reports, and conducting applicable standards research.

    • Ability to maintain a high level of activity, managing multiple ongoing projects, and working effectively in a team environment.

    • Ability to generate business plans and strategies appropriate to the work assigned at the business unit level.

    Added bonus if you have

    • Certification as an Industrial Hygienist by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly American Board of Industrial Hygiene) is not required but preferred; or a commitment to a pathway to achieve the CIH designation.

    • OSHA 10 hour

    • OSHA 30 hour
