    Who we’re looking for

    Toyota’s Body Weld Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage technical operations, systems, and projects for a designated process area within the Body Weld Department.

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Weld department's objective to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost targets are achieved and tracked utilizing FMDS tools (KPI Management).

    What you’ll be doing

    • Lead by “Safety First” mindset, Toyota Way, and TPS Principles.
    • Support execution of annual plans aligned with company and department hoshin goals.
    • Analyze KPI’s and identify / facilitate kaizen activity.
    • Lead technical problem-solving activities related to process equipment and new technology integration.
    • Support Production and Maintenance departments to solve system / process problems and implement countermeasure activity.
    • Be an area technical resource for production, maintenance, and quality to support manufacturing operations and standardization thru documentation, training, and audits.
    • Report to management, internal and external, on project status for assigned area
    • Coordinate and manage supplier/contractor activity, including equipment specification, job scope, expectations, safety, and schedules for assigned area.
    • Conduct Feasibility Study and Risk Assessment's prior to process & engineering changes being made for assigned area.
    • Develop technical instruction to assure quality requirements are met for assigned area.
    • Interact with outside groups (Stamping PE, Paint PE, Assy PE, Facilities, etc.)

    What you bring

    • Plant level experience in manufacturing environment
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical degree and a minimum 2 years working experience in Production Engineering Role
    • Experience with machine specifications creation and implementation of major and minor equipment and/or process changes
    • Experience writing Ringi’s, or cost reduction activities, and project management
    • Experience implementing equipment automations and/or integration
    • Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost
    • Experience leading/participating in cross-shop projects or problem-solving teams
    • Be willing to work weekends & holiday/shutdowns as necessary
    • Experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks
    • Experience using Catia and/or Carrot 3 and/or XVL

    Added bonus if you have

    • Toyota Experience, including Contractor support with Toyota
    • Experience writing technical specification and/or procedures
    • Experience with implementation of new technologies to improve process efficiency
    • Project lead experience managing activity schedules and KPIs.
    • Robot and/or Vision System Programing and/or Toyopuc experience
    • Experience using SMS and/or WinCMM
