Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Quality Compliance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Product Engineer
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, validate, and publish technical instructions to support Recalls, Service Campaigns, and Pre-Delivery Confirmation activities
Reporting to the Quality Compliance Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Quality Compliance objective to repair vehicles involved in Recalls, Service Campaigns, and Pre-Delivery Confirmation activities with quality and speed
What you’ll be doing
Confirm/validate/approve inspection/repair procedures provided by the NAMC’s and TMC
Coordinate with Tech Training and set Technician Cert/Course Requirements to determine eligible techs to perform campaign/PDC repairs.
Coordinate and Communicate between TMNA internal departments, TMC, R&D, NAMCs, Toyota De Mexico, Toyota De Puerto Rico, and other Toyota affiliates/vendors for campaign activities and predelivery confirmations.
Conduct training of technical repairs for field staff to ensure proper understanding, technique and application in market.
Review /investigate customer complaints, warranty, field data, and organize for reporting.
Develop and deploy repair confirmation apps and web applications
Assist with warranty related tasks such as system setup, warranty claims and VIN analysis.
Prepare executive presentations for PDC activities as needed
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or Automotive Technology or equivalent work experience
Experience as a technician or other role involved in the diagnosis and repair of vehicles
Experience in technical writing or creating written vehicle repair procedures
Proficient understanding of office productivity applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Be a flexible and positive team player who can respond quickly to changing priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously and support a wide variety of responsibilities
Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally
A motor vehicle record check may be conducted as a condition of accepting this position
What you may bring
Understanding of dealership service, parts ordering, and warranty claims processes
ASE Automotive Technician certifications
Knowledge and understanding of the vehicle manufacturing and quality assurance processes
Understanding of the vehicle logistics process and vehicle transport operations
TBP panel completion
