    TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Cost Accountant in our Finance department.   

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Review work order variances to determine if they are labor or machine time related and record them appropriately.
    • Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances.
    • Develop reporting for actual vs. standard costs.
    • Work with the manufacturing team to identify changes needed to standard costs and routes based on trends for actual labor and machine time
    • Analyze actual cost recovery allocations (MFB, NRE, Labor and Machine Time Allocations) and work with manufacturing team to understand forecast/ budget impact.
    • Update fixed and variable costs allocation methodology semi-annually. Propose methodology and basis for hourly rates to Senior Management.
    • Analyze and record Engine Build Plan and Development expenses and review WIP sub-ledger vs General Ledger differences.
    • Calculate monthly inventory obsolescence reserve and reconcile inventory accounts.
    • Review inventory adjustments and inventory cycle count data.
    • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for cost accounting and reporting.
    • Develop and document business processess and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and review and recommend enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
    • Special Projects and Ad hoc analysis.

    A successful candidate will have:

    • B.A/B.S. in Accounting or Finance
    • 5-7 years increasing responsible job experience
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP
    • Strong analytical and Excel skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to interpret complex financial data and present results to all levels of management in a clear and concise format.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships
    • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
    • Proactive and self-starter
    • Cost accounting and financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.

    A successful candidate may have:

    • A CPA preferred
    • A mix of public and industry accounting experience

    The expected base pay range for this position is $92,400 - $150,150 per year.
