Position summary

About the Role

As a Technical Lead Manager (TLM) in the Business Applications team, you will building solutions at global scale and delivering a top CRM product experience for UberEats. Today, these business units all use the Salesforce platform that includes products like: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud.

To support the Salesforce end users, the TLM will manage a team of software and integration engineers (<5) and guide their performance, impact and careers at Uber. The TLM will work closely with senior leadership across multi-functional teams such as sales, marketing, operations, products, security and finance. Plus work collaboratively with internal Uber product engineering teams to integrate Salesforce with internal built tools.

As a key member of our global team, you’ll join a team consisting of engineering managers, solution architects, program managers, Salesforce developers and administrators. It’s our mission to help our Uber employees be successful and accelerate their business efficiency with stellar technology solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of long-term technical projects and solutions
  • Diagnoses problems and determines an appropriate solution, recommendation, or decision
  • Construct concrete plans for the group to implement and carry out its mission
  • Assigns ownership of components of solutions to engineers
  • Aligns team to complete customer needs and requirements within area
  • Defines standards in testing, monitoring, and alerting systems
  • Provides quality code reviews, and crafts comprehensive tests and quality documentation
  • Leads team efforts to learn requirements and consolidate and translate vaguely defined business or technical problems into executable and extensible designs
  • Identifies and solves architectural gaps and reduces technical debt within team
  • Defines and promotes architecture standard methodologies for the team
  • Crafts, collaborates on, and communicates clear and compelling vision for the future
  • Supports hiring processes for their team, drives current and future team performance, building a diverse and strong team
  • Proactively identifies, builds, and uses strategic and collaborative relationships within the org and across functions to accomplish work.
  • Creates and maintains an environment that promotes discovering, considering and supporting ideas from a diverse group of backgrounds and experiences.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Engineering design expertise in software, systems and infrastructure
  • Writes high-quality code (i.e., reliable, readable, efficient, testable)
  • Minimum of 7+ years of Salesforce application development experience using Lightning, VisualForce, Apex, SOQL/SOSL
  • Excellent systems integration experience with common web services APIs
  • Experienced in DevOps practices, release management and quality assurance
  • Experienced in IT benchmarking standard operating procedures, measurements, and reporting processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert planner, organizer, and manager of tasks, resources, and relationships to accomplish work accurately and on time.
  • Excellent architecture experience implementing best-fit Salesforce technologies
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent multi-functional senior-level customer management experience
  • Experience using MuleSoft as an integration platform
  • Passion for technology, industry research and enjoys solving business problems
  • Salesforce Certifications in architecture, development and Sales/Service consulting
