The Business Development team plays a key role in managing strategic partnerships to support Uber Freight growth and Supply Chain digitization through scaling innovative solutions with partners.

Uber Freight is seeking a Business Development Senior Associate to join our team to focus on growing alliances across the freight transportation and logistics value chain! This person will be deeply interested in developing long-term successful partnerships across tech integrations, partner sales programs and co-branded initiatives with high profile companies and thrive in a fast-paced freight industry. Shipper API pricing, Fleet API tracking or the Mastercard deal are a few examples of BD partnerships that are handled by our team.

We’re looking for a Business Development Senior Associate who will work closely with a cross-functional team of leaders to identify and initiate growth through partnership opportunities. This will involve deal scoping and negotiation, establishing relationships with internal and external partners, and setting goals and achieving them. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, results-oriented partnerships professional, who thrives leading cross functional initiatives.

What the candidate will do

  • Drive progress on partnership conversations ensuring a robust, proactive deal pipeline.
  • Own all elements of the partnership life cycle: finding new opportunities, identifying potential partners, framing of value, negotiating agreements, and deal implementation and optimization.
  • Act as a cross line to sales and integration teams
  • Project Lead to ensure the coordination, sequencing, and orchestration of go-to-market strategies with partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business, product, ops, legal, marketing and finance to formulate partnership strategy and identify how to deliver business priorities, as well as new business initiatives.
  • Develop long term, mutually beneficial collaborations; resolve business, policy and technical issues.
  • Drive leadership support, engagement, and project governance
  • Provide concrete, specific feedback to teams creating content for communications, training, and other major deliverables that support the successful adoption of Uber Freight solutions and services.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key performance metrics to internal and external teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, partner management, or similar roles at a tech company, financial institution or transportation and logistic company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience driving technology adoption
  • Ability to build strong cross functional relationships.
  • Experience in cultivating and growing strategic business partnerships
  • Well-rounded profile: ability to combine business, strategy, finance, analytical skills and legal concepts to lead complex, dynamic deals
  • Creativity, critical thinking, and ability to use data and market insights to structure high impact deals
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Natural problem-solver: comfortable with ambiguity; able to both dive into operational tactics, and engage meaningfully in the big picture
  • Self starter: ability to be independent and multi-task in an unstructured fast paced environment
  • Excellent judgment, positive demeanor, hustle, proven history of success
  • Strong social skills which allow to build trust and negotiate hard with partners, and adeptly manage the cross-functional coordination (product, sales/ops, engineering, marketing/comm, finance, legal) required to implement deals
