Role Summary:
The Associate Manager, Payroll Services supports the regional payroll function by coordinating day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and helping to deliver a positive and efficient experience for both internal and external clients. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll accuracy and supporting ongoing process improvements, working closely with the Payroll Manager and broader team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the end-to-end processing of payroll for the region, ensuring all activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable legislation.
Assist in managing relationships with external payroll vendors and internal departments to support smooth payroll operations.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Monitor payroll-related compliance obligations and escalate risks or discrepancies to the Payroll Manager.
Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation for payroll processes.
Track and help report on payroll KPIs such as error rates, processing times, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Participate in testing and validation activities for new payroll tools, systems, or automation initiatives.
Support the Payroll Manager in identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Help train and onboard new team members on payroll systems and procedures.
Assist in the preparation of reports, dashboards, and presentations related to payroll operations and client experience.
Work with internal functions (Product, Transformation, Legal, Finance, etc.) to support operational integration and resolve routine issues.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in payroll operations, preferably in an international or regional setting.
Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
Experience working with payroll systems and third-party vendors.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Exposure to global payroll models, multi-country processing, or shared service environments is a plus.
Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and basic data analysis.
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow into a leadership role over time.
