Please know that this position is 100% work from home till end June 2021 due to Covid-19. Candidates from the Montreal region will be highly preferred. Around June our new Montreal office will be located close to "March Central" (Sauv/Crmazie metro - 555 Chabanel West). Return to office will be progressive Summer '21.

UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is looking for a Lead QA / Test Automation Developer (Java/Cloud platform) to join its world class engineering team in Montreal for its latest Cloud platform: UKG Dimensions. This role is part of a new Full-Stack team we are building from scratch locally. The successful candidate will be experienced in modern test methodologies and processes executed throughout the software development life cycle and have experience with Cloud practices. He/she will be accountable for the quality of the product by developing and executing test strategies to ensure quality releases.

Your daily responsibilities:
Ensuring proper functionality and performance of a wide variety of applications and platforms
A demonstrated ability to deliver quality product releases on schedule using risk analysis and defect containment practices, test automation and continuous improvement initiatives are key to this position
Providing technical expertise to the projects (Java, xUnit, Selenium, mocking frameworks)
Responsible and accountable for the quality of the product for the project
Collaborate with other QA team members and all members of the geographically dispersed team to ensure the appropriate implementation of functional requirements
Define, configure, and maintain automated test environments in a continuous integration framework
Develop test documents, run tests, and monitor results using tools for the application lifecycle
Participate in appropriate discussions and efforts on automated testing to develop and maintain best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree
+7 years of experience in software quality assurance with experience in Java (object-oriented solutions, REST services, micro-service architecture, test-driven development, and acceptance testing)
Solid experience in functional testing and software quality best practices
Experience in database modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, and techniques/tools such as MySQL, SQL, etc.
Ability to write intermediate SQL Queries
Familiarity with tools used to automate the deployment of an enterprise software solution to the cloud, Concourse, Ansible, etc.
Proficiency with Git as a version control system
Ability to communicate information effectively to customers at various organizational levels
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Good experience in test management tools like ALM, JIRA

Nice to have
Bilingual French/english (we provide with free virtual French courses), big plus
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Knockout JS and / or Angular
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with Python, etc.
